Insidious: Chapter 2

As a huge fan of acclaimed horror director James Wan’s previous summer hit ‘The Conjuring’, I walked in to ‘Insidious: Chapter 2’ really wanting to enjoy it. However, this was not the case. Whilst the film boasts strong performances from it’s actors, it feels exceptionally forced and over the top to the point that the film becomes unintentionally hilarious rather than scary. I can honestly say that I didn’t jump once throughout the entire film, due to the cheap, cartoonish attempted jump scares. However, despite being short on the tension, this films simple premise still makes for lots of harmless fun. 5/10.

5 hours ago I went to go see ‘Rush’ at the cinema. 5 hours later I am still blown away. A visually stunning, exhilarating and exciting movie with outstanding performances from Hemsworth and Bruhl. The racing scenes were shot beautifully and had me on the edge of my seat despite not being a Formula 1 fan myself. In my opinion, Ron Howard has created a classic masterpiece in this hugely amusing drama which gets everything right. 10/10.
