As a huge fan of acclaimed horror director James Wan’s previous summer hit ‘The Conjuring’, I walked in to ‘Insidious: Chapter 2’ really wanting to enjoy it. However, this was not the case. Whilst the film boasts strong performances from it’s actors, it feels exceptionally forced and over the top to the point that the film becomes unintentionally hilarious rather than scary. I can honestly say that I didn’t jump once throughout the entire film, due to the cheap, cartoonish attempted jump scares. However, despite being short on the tension, this films simple premise still makes for lots of harmless fun. 5/10.
